Chemical Peel
Radiant, fresh-looking skin is not only beautiful, but also a sign of youth and health. Unfortunately, constant sun exposure and the passage of time take a toll on the skin, robbing it of its elastic, smooth quality. Chemical peels are one of the most effective, minimally invasive treatments available for aged or sun damaged skin. At our premier med spa, we offer a range of chemical peels to improve the texture of your skin and treat a range of skin conditions. Put your best face forward by scheduling a chemical peel appointment with a member of our professional team today.
About Chemical Peels
Chemical peels rejuvenate the skin by removing the damaged outer skin layers to reveal a healthier, fresher complexion. Chemical peels vary by intensity (i.e., light, medium, deep) based on the depths to which the chemicals penetrate. Light peels perform a light exfoliation of the skin, resulting in a healthier glow. Medium chemical peels penetrate deeper skin layers, and are ideal for acne scars and deeper wrinkles. Deep chemical peels penetrate down to the lower dermal layer of the skin, and are most effective for deeper facial wrinkles, sun damaged skin and precancerous growths. Your chemical peel will be tailored to your unique skincare needs and skin type. Chemical peels are most commonly performed on the face, but can also be used on the neck, chest, arms, hands and legs. Following your chemical peel treatment, you will notice smoother, tighter, younger-looking skin.
Am I a Candidate for a Chemical Peel?
Chemical peels are used to treat a range of aging signs and skin conditions, including:
- Fine lines
- Acne and mild acne scarring
- Sun spots and liver spots
- Freckles
- Poor skin texture
- Uneven skin tone and pigmentation
- Rough skin and scaly patches
- Precancerous growths
Your Chemical Peel Treatment
A chemical peel treatment can be completed at our office in about 20 to 30 minutes. First, the skin is cleansed and topical anesthesia may be applied depending on the strength of the peel. The chemical solution is then applied to the treatment area for about 10 minutes. During this time, you may feel mild stinging and warming of the skin. Once the chemical solution has been removed, you will be given post-treatment instructions and will be free to go home.
Peeling typically starts two to three days after treatment and may take up to seven to 10 days to complete, depending on the strength of the peel. An anti-oxidant moisturizer is used daily until the peeling is completed. As your skin begins to peel, you will notice a more radiant, luminous complexion.
To maintain your rejuvenated, refreshed appearance, we recommend following a proper skin care regimen and scheduling repeat treatments with our expert team. During your consultation, one of our skin care specialists can discuss a treatment plan that suits your needs and goals.
